Ok, so with new tech flying in the family today I decided to buy Peanut a new game for her Leapster Explorer. It was the Mr. Pencil game that let’s her do 2 of her favorite things in all of the world, write and draw. I figured that this had to be more successful than the last try…right (see my earlier “Gamer, Mother, Stupid Buy” post)?
She was uber excited when I told her that I bought her a new game. This, of course, made me excited. When I handed her the Explorer she handed it back to me and said, “I don’t want it!”. When I explained to her that her new game was for this system…she burst into tears and started crying, “I want my white game with the white pencil” (aka her Nintendo DSi). Little by little as the day went on I actually got her to sit down and try the game. She ignored the little cartoon and hated the “game” itself. In the end she threw it down, declared “I don’t like it”, and walked away. Oh well, another $30 down the drain. Nothing like throwing good money after bad, but I am not buying any more games for this craptastic device unless Peanut gets to try them first and declares her undying loved for them!
