For those who didn’t get a chance to check out my blog last week, I’m writing a 2 part series about my gaming history. HOWEVER, we have a pretty big event coming up on Saturday that I would like to talk about (and plug!). So rest assured, Kid Chameleon is coming, but it will just be delayed a little bit.
OK, so Saturday is the annual Extra Life video game marathon to benefit children’s hospitals. Each year we get together and raise money (through sponsors), and then we game for 24 hours straight. We get together on campus, bring our TVs and our rigs, surround ourselves with Cheetos and Mountain Dew (and cold press coffee), and then we game. We game hard. We game hard for 24 hours. This year is going to be even more interesting, since the marathon is over daylight savings. So, we will actually be gaming for 25 hours. 25 hours straight. Yes, we even bring DS’s to the bathroom.
In return for sponsoring, we provide a livestream of the event, and this year Extra Life has given each gamer who raises money access to their own personal livestream channel. So, if the Internet is favorable, you may even get personalized streams. It’s a really great event that brings the gaming community together to do something positive.
We could really use your donations. Here is the team page for our team, Gamers, All. Check it out and help someone who hasn’t reached their fundraising goal yet: http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&teamID=10729
