Ever since the announcement of the new Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U at E3 last year people have been pondering the existence of a female Link character. The usual suspects on the internet exploded. People swore their allegiance to a male Link and vowed to disown Nintendo forever if the new Wii U game featured a female Link. Many of us have waited a very long time for a female Link (or Zelda as heroine), but as it becomes more and more apparent that this is not to be (yet) we can still hold out hope for a female Link through the recently announced Female Link Jam.
Participants in the jam will have from April 1, 2015 to May 1, 2015 to create their own Zelda styled game featuring a female Link character. Two rules apply in this jam: 1) the heroine must be named Link and 2) the game must take place in the Zelda universe. The rest is basically left up to the discretion of the game’s developer.
Interested parties should check out the site for the jam at http://jams.gamejolt.io/femalelinkjam or contact the organizer at directly via Twitter at http://twitter.com/donboody69. I’m anxious to see the submissions that come out of this jam.
